             Our Area of Responsibility

Flotilla 16-08 is located in Saint Ignace Michigan which is in the Upper Peninsula and on the Straits of Mackinac where Lake Michigan joins Lake Huron.  It's an area rich in history and includes the well known and beautiful Mackinac Island.
Horse and buggy, carriages and bicycles are seen where ever you look as
vehicles are prohibited on the Island.   The area is also known for the
"fudgies" who come from down state and around the country to buy
the delicious and daily made Mackinac fudge.  Two historical forts are
in the area...Fort Mackinac on the Island and Fort Michilimackinac in
Mackinaw City.
