Welcome
Welcome to the
Saint Ignace flotilla's webpage. We hope you'll find this page informative and educational. Our
flotilla is looking forward to our 36th year this coming September.
Most of our original charter members have gone
into retired status but do stop by for a visit every now and then.
One of our members, Mr. Michael Litzner, just received his 35 year
membership award at our July meeting and can be seen receiving his award
on our photo page.
Pictured above is the Grand Hotel
on Mackinac Island which was taken by an auxiliarist while on safety
patrol. The hotel was opened in 1887
and overlooks the Mackinac Straits where Lake
Huron and Lake Michigan join, and where the lower and upper peninsula of
the state connected by the Mackinac bridge. The hotel was also seen in the movie Somewhere in
Time and is rich in history. It is but one of many beautiful
sights in the area that our flotilla operational people see while on
patrol.
Our Flotilla meets monthly at Coast Guard Station St Ignace the first Tuesday of the month at 7 pm.
Check our Events page for this years meeting dates. We do
not meet during the months of January and February.
